MBS Operational Rules

MEDICAL CONDITIONS - Pre-existing medical conditions MUST be noted in writing at registration for the protection of each student. If you have a heart condition, hypertension, sugar diabetes, or are an adult over 40 pounds overweight, you must consult a physician before starting a dance or aerobics class.

PAYMENTS - Deposit payments in drop box on week #1 of a pay period.  There is a $5 late fee due if payment is made on week #3 or week #4 of a payment period. Payment #1, costume fee and a non-refundable registration fees are due at registration. We do not accept cash payments (checks or money orders only.) There will be a $20 charge for any check returned for insufficient funds.  Students owing for more than 4 weeks will not be allowed to participate.

COMPANY SELECTION - All new Company and Performing group members are referred by class instructor and Director observation from the previous year but only placed when a space is available.  Moving from one performing group to another is based on student age and maturity level.

THE MBS CLASS YEAR - Classes run from September until mid June taking a week off at holidays (2 weeks at Christmas.) All students will perform in the annual dance recital held in June at the end of the dance year.. Only companies and performing groups perform in the Christmas show.

PICTURES – MBS requires students to take pictures in costume for our souvenir book. The option to purchase individual pictures at additional cost is available.  This service has given many students the pleasure of photo-story collections of their years in dance. Pictures will be taken in the spring of each year.

VALUABLES - Please leave your money or valuables home and use a lock on your locker. We will not be responsible for lost or stolen money or valuables.  Large earrings and jewelry may not be worn in class. We have a lost and found behind the stairway going to the 3rd level.  We save lost jewelry and shoes with mates in the main office.  Cell phones are not allowed in class.

SIT OUTS - We expect a good attitude for learning when in class. We use “sit out” as a discipline tool when absolutely necessary.  There is absolutely no loud talking or running in the building.

SNOW DAYS – Since we can not reach all students to cancel class on snow days, we are always open for class.  Students can make-up two missed classes as well as days that we declare as heavy snow days (See instructor for make-up schedule.)

VOLUNTEERS - We are always seeking volunteers to help with the Christmas show and June Recital. If you are a company or performing group member, at least one parent or guardian is asked to volunteer for one performance each year.

LATE PICK-UPS – Any student under 10 must have parental supervision while waiting for another sibling to finish a dance class. Any parent that has not picked up their child 15 minutes after the last class of the day, will be charged $5 every 15 minutes. The late fee must be paid before the next class.

LATE DROP-OFFS – Warm-ups are important for safe training.  Please arrive on time..

BUILDING MAINTENANCE – The lunchroom is located on the lower level.  This is the only area where eating is allowed.  Please help keep your building clean.

SICK DAYS – Each student can make up 2 sick days a year.  Do not subtract money from your monthly payment for sick days.  Talk to instructor or office staff for make-up time.

ATTENDANCE – When a student misses 3 classes in a roll, without calling to provide a reason they will be automatically dropped from the class.

GUESTS – Must sign in at the main office.  We discourage students from inviting guests because our level of supervision is adequate for our dancers but not for extra teen-aged or younger non-students.

PARKING LOT – Please make an immediate right turn then proceed counter-clockwise through the parking lot.  This allows our students maximum safety when entering and exiting cars.

REFUNDS – After we are notified of the students last attended class, unused class fees and costume fees will be returned if costumes have not been ordered.
